Ahh, so you take the Staten Island ferry to work? My dad used to live on Staten Island (first in a loft on Bay St, then in a house on Swan St), and during the summers when I stayed with him we'd take the ferry into Manhattan every morning. What a great ride! He moved back to Manhattan about 15 years ago so I never really have a reason to go out to SI, but I really loved it there when I was a kid.
How long does your entire commute take? I'm sure you get sick of that question (I know I do!), but I'm curious. :)
Anna, My commute takes anywhere from an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. I work all the way out in Long Island City. The ferry ride itself is only about 25 minutes to Manhattan. I live very close to Bay St. Landing - probably where your Dad used to live! Those apartments are amazing and most have amazing views - we considered buying one a few years ago but ended up in a smaller co-op building. Small world. :)
